Children’s Parties
Peas in a Pod children’s parties are ideal for your home, a preschool or at a smaller venue. I offer two kinds of party for children up to 7 years old.
The Adventure party involves an active story woven around a theme or tale which links in with your child or children’s interest. So we might go to the jungle in search of a lost animal or head to the high seas to help a princess. Along the way there will be music, movement, sensory elements, puppets, bubbles, dance and games as well as a large coloured parachute which the children love. We end with a sit down story to calm them down and even make the birthday child a (n imaginary) present they will never forget! It works best with around 12 to 20 children (depending on the space available and age of children). Costs below.
The Storytelling Party is a more sedate, intimate party where the children sit and listen to orally told stories with lots of participation, puppets and sensory bits and pieces! Again, your child’s interests can influence which stories I tell. This can be for up to 25 children as the children are more contained and can also work for preschool or toddler group parties. Costs below.
Both parties can be adapted to any age from 2-7 years. I aim to bring them gently back from the excitement at the end, relaxing them and leaving them tired and happy! Please let me know if any of the children have an additional needs so I can make sure they are included.
Both parties work well to start soon after the guests arrive (maybe 10-15 minutes after the invite time) and are followed by a birthday tea straight afterwards. After that you could do some party games, crafts or some dancing. It’s really helpful if parents can be ushered to a different space as it can be hard for children to hear otherwise, unless they need their carers with them.
Both parties can be adapted to suit girls or boys from 2 to 7 years. They actually works well with mixed ages so don’t worry if you’ve got younger siblings – they really love it!
Costs (for parties within 4 miles of BS16 2BY)
The cost of the The Adventure party children’s party (more lively) starts at £105 for weekend parties for around 20 children for around an hour.
The Storytelling Party (more sedate) is £80 for 40 minutes for around 25 children.
The Baby or Toddler Party for very young children. This would be for very young children, 30 minutes and midweek (currently Mondays and Fridays or any day of the week in half terms and holidays), £60
Do enquire about extra charge if you’re outside this area or if you are inviting more children than that stated above or for midweek parties which may attract a discount. Prices are different for schools, nurseries and other venues, do enquire.

“I was so happy to find Paula. I didn’t want a staged children’s ‘entertainer’ making balloon animals – I wanted someone who would really respond to the children and bring a calming yet, exciting atmosphere to the party (boys and girls aged 0-6). Paula is a real ‘story teller’ and she weaves her magic through interactive play using instruments and props with the children. The children were entranced and particularly enjoyed clay modelling in the sunshine, and the silk parachute indoors. They were very sad to see Paula leave!
